Cliffs of Dooneen

The Cliffs of Dooneen is an old Irish ballad which is said to have been penned as a poem by a man called Jack Mc Auliffe and then later put to music by a local musician of the area. The ballad supposedly dates back to the early 1900’s and has been performed many times by the likes of Planxty and Christy Moore. It is performed here in the style of an Air with melodic ornamentation
